Rubee Designs is a combination of "ruby," Melissa's birthstone, and "honeybee," the meaning of her name—symbolizing passion, creativity, hard work, and the power of connection.

Melissa lives in Tift County with her husband, two children, and a variety of animals, embracing the charm of country life while enjoying the occasional escape to a city or beach. She is also the Executive Director for Literacy Volunteers of Tifton-Tift County, volunteers at the Tiftarea House of Hope, and is a board member of the Tift County Commission on Children and Youth.
